USE IT As mentioned, a Web service file can be created using a text editor. When you save the file, you must save it with the extension .asmx. That extension tells the Web server that your file is a Web service.

You can save your Web service anywhere within your Web root. Wherever you do save the file, you will need to supply that path to developers that will use your Web service. Therefore, place the file in a location that is easily addressed.
